ED@WORK: THE COCA-COLA COMPANY
On Tuesday morning, Out of Hand Theater was invited to the Coca-Cola Community Engagement Summit as a part of their program bringing together top CEOs, COO, CFOs, and other high-ranking officials to consider how each of the respective organizations present can better serve communities in Atlanta and across the world.
Coca-Cola hosted the event at their headquarters, with Out of Hand playing a more supportive role during their program. A play directed by Nikki Young was performed as a part of the program’s itinerary, which highlighted how lack of community resources, such as inefficient WiFi and faulty infrastructure, can have detrimental effects on future generations. Reinforcing awareness about various social issues the attendees were familiar with was one of the ways that Out of Hand supported the Coca-Cola company.
Facilitators associated with Coca-Cola were also present at the luncheon and Out of Hand provided extra facilitators to support them as they asked questions and guided the conversation, some of them performing in this role for the first time. The questions revolved around subjects such as how attendees could relate to the play based on their own organizations and what the attendees could do in their own organizations to solve some of the societal issues mentioned.
With the conclusion of the conversations, Out of Hand hopes that the dialogue presented will lead to constructive solutions that each of the attendees will put into practice with their organizations in order to help their respective communities.
